Footprint Introduction
Description: This is my footprint introduction activity! This is a great activity for the beginning of the year so students can get to know each other and you can get to know your students. For this activity you will ask students to draw and cut out an outline of their foot. Then they will decorate their footprint with pictures of things that interest them! For this particular activity I used three different mediums to create my footprint. If you look at my footprint you can see that I used magazine cutouts, markers, crayons, photographs, and even a fortune from a fortune cookie!
Extension Activity: This activity could be extended in many ways but the main activity I have come up with is to incorporate the footprints into a writing activity. After students complete their footprints, you can have them write an essay describing their footprint. Sort of an “All About Me”, in which students will write about the symbols, objects, or pictures they put on their footprint to share their interests. This way students can practice their writing skills in a fun way!
